1. General Principles
ECHOSEC’s Service allows its users to collect and use information from public sources, primarily social media. ECHOSEC’s Service is designed to search social media information that individual authors have already made publicly available through the privacy settings of their social media accounts.
3. Information Echosec Collects
3.1 User Information. If you subscribe to use ECHOSEC’s Service, we will ask for personal information such as your name, email address, physical address and payment address. We use that information to identify you when you log-in to use our products, for billing purposes, to collect payments, to provide you with account support and to keep you informed about your account and our products, if you have requested to receive such information.
3.2 Website Traffic. In addition, ECHOSEC collects and analyzes traffic on our website by keeping track of the IP addresses of our visitors and by collecting log file information. Your IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to the computer that you are using by your Internet service provider (ISP) or by another organization. An IP address, by itself, cannot identify you personally. However, when combined with other information, your IP address can be used to identify the computer you are using. In addition, ECHOSEC may use your IP address to estimate your geographic location. We discuss log file information further in a later paragraph of this Section 3.
3.4 Log File Information. Your web browser automatically sends information to every website you visit, including ours. For example, our server logs may receive and record information such as the pages you access on our website, referring URLs, your browser type, your operating system, the date and time of your visit, and the duration of your visit to each page.
3.5 User Agent Strings. Log file information may also include a user agent string, a series of characters automatically sent with your Internet requests that provide information necessary for smooth Internet communications such as the operating system and browser you used. Similar to an IP address, a user agent string, by itself, does not identify you personally. However, when combined with other information, a user agent string might be used to identify the computer originating a message.
3.7 Collection of Additional Information; Retention. ECHOSEC may collect additional information from or about you in other ways, including responses to customer surveys or your communications with our customer service team. ECHOSEC may retain all information it collects for an indefinite period of time.
4. How Echosec Uses Information
As stated above, ECHOSEC may use personal information such as your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, or other contact information we obtain from you for the purposes of providing, enhancing, or improving ECHOSEC’s Service.
ECHOSEC maintains contact lists (with email addresses and other information) to allow us to communicate with our clients or people who have expressed an interest in ECHOSEC’s Service. We may contact you to confirm your purchases or respond to requests that you make, notify you of changes to your account or our products, for marketing purposes, or to otherwise inform you of information related to our business or your account with us.
5. How Echosec Shares Information
We may provide your information to our third party service providers, contractors and business partners, for the purpose of delivering ECHOSEC’s Service to you as well as for purposes related to administration of our website and operation, including conducting analytics. When sharing information for the purpose of providing you with our products and services, we will share your personal information only as necessary for the third party working on ECHOSEC’s behalf to complete its work for us. For example, if you use a credit card to complete a transaction on our website, we may share your personal information and credit card number with a credit card processing company in order to complete your transaction.
In order to provide the Service, ECHOSEC uses the search queries you enter into the Service to search the third party social media services that are included in the search. However, search queries are not associated with your account, so it does not identify you to any of the third party social media services. These third party services each maintain their own privacy policies that document how they may use your search queries, and you are encouraged to read these policies for more information. These policies include:
- Twitter: https://twitter.com/en/privacy
- YouTube API Services: http://www.google.com/policies/privacy
We reserve the right to disclose your personal information to appropriate third-parties if we are required to do so by law or we believe that such action is necessary in order (a) to comply with legal process such as a search warrant, subpoena, or court order; (b) to protect the company’s rights and property; (c) to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, fraud, or situations involving potential threats to the rights, property, or personal safety of any person; or (d) to protect against misuse or unauthorized use of our website or products.
If another company acquires ECHOSEC, our databases and any personal information we collect may be among the assets transferred to the new company.
ECHOSEC does not sell personal data received from you to third parties.
6. Your Control Over Your Personal Information
If you are a client using ECHOSEC’s Service, you can make changes to your account information by logging into your account and modifying your preferences. If you do not wish to receive email notifications from us, you may opt-out by contacting us at email@example.com with your request. You can manually delete cookies, which are normally located in your temporary Internet folder or cookie folder. You can also reset the preferences in your web browser to notify you when you have received a cookie or, alternatively, to refuse to accept cookies. Deleting or blocking cookies will affect the functionality when you access our website or access our products and services that require a log-in.
You can contact us to obtain a copy of your personal information that is held by us. This may be subject to a fee as permitted by applicable law. You can also ask us to correct and, where relevant, erase that information. Note, however, that certain information may need to be kept for a period of time where this is necessary for our business purposes or as required or authorized by applicable law. There are some cases where we are prohibited from disclosing your personal information and in such cases, we will provide you with the reasons for that.
